Carol Sing at 2:00PM and 7:00pm
The holiday concert, with two performances on December 7, at 2:30 and 7:30, brings Holiday Magic to our fifth year. Special guest, Gary Arbuthnot, the noted Irish flautist who performed with the Chorale and the Yavapai College Master Chorale in December 2016, will again bring his flute and engaging style to Prescott. Gary has prepared holiday selections for chorus and flute that you will recognize and relish. The Chorale will join Gary for madrigals, carols, and some special music.
As if the magic of the sound of a flute performed by an exceptionally talented musician and chorus isn’t enough, the Chorale will also present the Ceremony of Carols by English composer, Benjamin Britten, to be accompanied by one of Arizona’s most talented harpists and frequent instrumentalist with the Chorale, David Ice. And, just to top off the afternoon concert, the Chorale welcomes one of the Bradshaw Mountain High School choral ensembles, under the direction of Amy Van Winkle, to enchant the audience with the magic that young voices bring to the season. The evening performance will include additional selections for flute, harp, and chorus to fill out the day. Come early to either concert to sing carols from your seat in the audience, or, join us for both and share in this magical time of year.
